African White-backed Vulture
It’s not uncommon to see
hundreds of white-backed vultures gathered around the
carcass of a dead animal enjoying the spoils.
The
vulture, like many scavengers, has a bad reputation, but it has role
to play in nature. African vultures get most of
their food from animals that have died because of old age or other natural
causes, rather than predation.
