Thomson's Gazelle
The
most commonly seen gazelles in East Africa, Thomson’s gazelles are slightly
built. The males reach shoulder heights of three feet and weigh forty
to sixty pounds. They live in herds of five to sixty females and young,
with one male. They are preyed upon by most of the large carnivores,
including cheetahs and lions. Thomson’s gazelles are quick and agile,
helping them elude predators.
